Materials: Seamless

SCAD Real-time Digital Materials and Surfaces

January 7, 2020 – January 23, 2020

The SCAD Real-time Digital Materials and Surfaces course provides background and instruction towards creating digital materials and textures for digital surfaces rendered in real-time.

SCAD project introduced the Substance suite in Substance Alchemist/Bitmap2Material and Substance Designer.

Seamless and Procedural Materials

The project asked for a seamless material to be created in Substance Alchemist/Bitmap2Material using photographs taken of the real texture.
The project also called for three other materials made procedurally in Substance Designer’s material graph editor.
The four materials created are applied to simple primitive shapes and rendered in Unreal Engine at real-time.
